Welcome to the Ridge Elementary School PTA website. We all welcome you to another school year. Please always remember that we welcome your comments and suggestions.
Who/What is PTA?
"Parent-Teacher Association" and "PTA" are registered service marks of the National Congress of Parents and Teachers (National PTA). Only those groups chartered by the New York State PTA are entitled to use the name "PTA". Ridge Elementary School PTA is a local unit made up of parents, teachers, administrators, local business owners, etc. who wish to participate in the overall development of the children in our community.
All of the schools within the Longwood Central School District are part of the Longwood Community which encompasses four elementary schools (K - 4), one Middle school (5 & 6), one Junior High School (7 & 8) and one High School (9 - 12) in addition to many wonderful businesses and a fully functional up-to-date library.
Each of the schools within the District have individual PTA units which are guided by the Longwood PTA Council. In addition, we also pride ourselves in the Special Education PTA - SEPTA - whose funds go to support programs that promote the understanding of children with disabilities. Everyone is invited to join the SEPTA PTA - your donations are greatly appreciated.
Here at Ridge Elementary School we pride ourselves in our ability to support cultural arts programs within the school. We work one on one with administration and the teaching staff to bring high quality programs to Ridge. In addition, we also promote the idea of family by hosting family evening programs such as Family Fun Night. The PARP program, Book Fair, and Springtime Plant Sale, have all been extremely successful in the past and continue to be a priority for us. We are planning many exciting programs for the coming school year.

We hope to see all of you at our five general PM PTA meetings which are listed on the Ridge PTA Calendar of Events. Please note the time and date changes! We would love to see you all, but we do understand that there are those of you who can not make the meetings due to other commitments. As an added feature monthly meeting minutes to this site to accommodate those of you who are unable to attend. Our hope is reach out to everyone - if not in person, then in cyberspace.
