Ridge PTA General Meeting Minutes dated November, 14, 2011
* Call to order at 7:00 pm by Victoria Molloy, PTA Co-President
* Pledge of Allegiance
* Veteran’s Day Performance by Mrs. Sampogna and 4th graders
* Administrative Report- Mrs. Rozycki
o School Report Cards were published in Newsday; Ridge made AYP in all areas; Ridge Elementary is a school in good standing
o PBIS off to great start; students earning cub cash/paws; donations needed for school store; alternative learning program is working within school store
o Parent/Teacher conferences 12/13 & 12/14; report cards come out in mid Dec.; possibly going electronic for report cards by next year
* Approval of Minutes- from Oct. General PTA Meeting by Cathy D’Onofrio and Audrey Marelli
* President’s Report-
o Picture Day , Spirit week, PARP kickoff were a success; PARP is completed- all students who participated should have received their rewards- thank you Cathy, Kelly, Sally and others who volunteered their time!
o Newsletter went home- thank you Carrie!
o Discounts for PTA members (i.e. Hertz) can be found on the national PTA website
o Next meeting Jan. 9th- NO Dec. meeting
* Treasurer’s Report- Motion to approve Oct.’s budget made by Kelly Motto Jung and Gail Langan
* Correspondence- a “thank you” was read from Board of Ed for Appreciation Day gift
* SEPTA Report-
o Mixed Bag fundraiser will be distributed this week
o Next sensory friendly movie is scheduled for Nov. 19th
o Gift Cards made easy flyer went home
o Next activity night- Fri., Jan. 13th- TBA
o Next meeting- Nov. 30th- topic of social training
* Board of Ed Report- Last meeting congratulated newly tenured teachers and administration
* Council Delegate Report- Oct. 17th meeting went over upcoming building repairs, ways to conserve energy within the district, Safe Halloween
* Committee Reports-
o Membership- 258 members total to date; membership cards went out
o Class Parents- letter re: teacher gifts will be formulated
o Fall Fundraiser- success and distributed; top seller received a gift card
o Reflections- 6 students participated; local winners will be announced soon
o Book Fair- successful
o PARP- approx. 500 students participated; scented bookmarks were given as prizes
o Newsletter- if you would like anything put into the letter contact Carrie Schor
o Box Tops- in 2 months we collected $1,100! Keep sending them in!
o Laser Light Show- Nov. 18th @ 7pm in IC Gym
o Holiday Fair- Fri., Dec. 2nd from 5:30- 8:30 pm in IC Gym; vendors needed; $25/table
o 4th Grade Yearbook- contact Carrie Schor if you want to help; volunteers needed
o Family Fun Night- Jan. 20th; PJ/Bingo Night
* Unfinished Business- Cathy D’Onofrio appointed as Council Delegate
* New Business- none
