Dear Ridge families,
As I write the words "Happy Holiday's" I can hardly believe that the year is
ending and were preparing for our family celebrations. It seems as though we
just finished shopping for school supplies and just learned the names of new
friends and teachers.
As winter quickly approaches I would like to take a quick look back to all
of the fabulous fall programs our students and families had the opportunity
to enjoy.
This years annual welcome back family picnic was a great success. The
weather was beautiful and over 400 people enjoyed good food, great face
paintings, dancing to upbeat music, and eating yummy ice cream. I would like
to extend a special thank you to all the teachers who came out to support
our school and Mrs. Rozycki and Mr. Colson for bringing their families and
joining us for some fun. Thank you to all who helped make this event a great
success.
Our next event was the book fair, thank you to all who donated books so that
every child could have one. PARP was kicked off with the entertainment of
Patricia Shih, the award winner singer and songwriter. Many thanks to all
who donated books for the "Caring Kids" program that our school here at
Ridge Elementary supported. What a wonderful opportunity for our children to
be involved with helping other children. I Am so thrilled about the awesome
response of over 600 PARP participants this year. What a wonderful turn out.
Many thanks to all who helped count the hundreds of PARP tracking sheets and
distribution of all the prizes.
Most recently we enjoyed the holiday fair. It was a delightful sight to see
the excitement of the holidays in the children's eyes. Once again the night
could not have been a success without the dedication of so many volunteers.
The Ridge PTA works all year for our children. We know how special childhood
is and how valuable education is for our children. Please join us in making
the winter months as amazing as the fall was. See you at our next PTA
meeting Monday, January 7, at 7:00 pm in the Intermediate Center.
